MPS Announces Relocation of Caribou District Office
This move is part of an effort to achieve efficiency and reduce business costs, in an attempt to help keep rates stable for customers.
PRESQUE ISLE, ME, April 10, 2012 – Maine Public Service, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emera, Inc., Halifax, NS (TSX:EMA) announced today it is relocating its Caribou District Office at 21 Aldrich Drive to the field operations center located in Presque Isle. Maine Public plans to lease the Caribou facility to another interested business who intends to occupy the building in May. MPS also maintains district offices in Fort Kent and Island Falls.
According to MPS Senior Vice President and Interim General Manager Lois M. Smith, “Beginning on or about April 23, our Caribou crews, office workers, and vehicles will be dispatched from the G. Melvin Hovey Operations Center in Presque Isle. This move, along with the relocation of the Presque Isle Customer Call Center last month and the pending relocation in early May of our personnel at corporate headquarters, provides Maine Public Service a unique opportunity to house all of its major support functions in Central Aroostook under one roof.”
